BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

Iris Patten, Visiting Assistant Professor; Master of Urban and Regional Planning, 2007, University of Florida, Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning, 2010, University of Florida.  Ms. Patten specializes in land use analysis and scenario modeling, geographic information systems, land use conflict, and international planning.  Current research includes understanding the connection between land use and economic growth, the impacts to growth and land use suitability after regional and local events (i.e. transit and changes in growth policy) occur, and how innovative industries affect land use suitability and future growth patterns.  Her research has been funded by the US Environmental Protection Agency and state and regional agencies and organizations.  Ms. Patten is a member of several professional and academic planning associations.
